One of the key uses for our excellent little (or large) storage spaces is to host your stuff while you move.
Getting some of your favourite things out of your place and stored securely off-site can reduce moving company costs. Plus you get peace of mind in knowing that Aunt Petunia’s false teeth collection is safe, along with that one of a kind oil painting worth who knows how much (one of these, is not like the other).
Now that we have you primed on why we are an excellent moving day buddy, here are some other facts that you may find useful.
Time of Week.
If you are looking to save a few bucks on the big move, we would suggest you chat to your moving company about a midweek move. The rates generally go up over weekends due to high demand, but Monday to Thursday are much more economical. The money saved may more than offset the time lost in work wages.
Time of Month.
End of month, when leases are up, are prime moving times. So, if you can, try take occupation at about mid-month. Costs will be down, and your movers will have more time for you.
Time of Year.
Summer is when everyone is moving all over the place, which is why you should sit tight. Better rates and deals can be done in Winter (bonus, it’s a dry season), although Spring and Autumn raise their hands as well.
