‘Tis the Winter of ‘Dis Content

by | May 5, 2025

So it took a minute, but it would seem that winter has finally got a vague grip on KZN. Its nearly enough to put socks on with those flip flops while outside, right? We said ‘almost.’ Of course with winter comes the need to adjust your contents between home and storage unit. So break out the wetsuit (surfing is good in winter, because of course it is) and start packing up that summer gear, for the next two and a half weeks, at least. Make a list of what’s going into storage and what’s coming out to make this and all future seasonal transitions more seamless.

If we may be so bold – coming to stay with us for the winter could include the following:

  • Summer sports equipment
  • Outdoor furniture that you want to protect from the cold
  • Camping stuff.
  • Bikinis. (We said what we said).
  • And you might as well finally put your Christmas stuff away while you’re at it.

On the other hand, what could come out of storage includes the following:

  • Sleeping bags
  • Electric blankets
  • Bulky winter clothing
  • Heaters
  • Wetsuits

Remember what goes in could do with an extra layer of kindness and protection to see it through the next couple lonely weeks, so drape what you want and wrap what you can. The occasional vacuum seal never hurt anyone, either.
